Florida forests

We had a little bit of rain yesterday afternoon, and it has dropped from the upper 90s to the upper 80s. I decided this morning would be a fine opportunity to get out in some cooler temperatures for the first time since moving to Florida four months ago. The ‘heat bubble’ has kept things between 90 and 100 since early June, and I ride atgatt, but no one else around here does. I’ve gone on several group rides with several different local groups, and while half wear helmets, only in a group of 23 motorcycles was there a single other atgatt rider.

I avoided the highway and headed for coffee in Ocala National Forest, then lunch with my nephew in Orlando.

After a nice lunch & chat, I rode the back roads through Orlando, east towards Ormond Beach, and the well-known Nature Loop. My mom lives about 2 miles from there, so I stopped in and said hello. Then I continued up the beach road with the Atlantic on my right the final 30 miles home. A nice 250 miles and eight hours of slow riding.
